one can be sure to be amazed by how well music can tell a story. sometimes, music can tell a story better than words. and that, is definitely the beauty of music.
ok. that was no quote. that was what i said. so pardon me if i said wrong.
but i really think that is true.
it's been long since i listened to 7th night. so im listening to it now. and while listening to it, i recalled some things jasmine had said to me a few days back while going home with her. it went something like this:
we were talking about how bad HCJC band plays the national anthem when she said:
jasmine: "you know our national anthem also very bad right? sigh."
me: "ya."
jasmine: "but actually, which band would go and use normal band prac to practice national anthem lorh. you know my friend right, she was saying our national anthem was terrible, so she thought that our school band standard was very low, and she said that we should start from national anthem and 练起。but when she heard on FOA band performed the 7th night, and the choir was crying backstage because of our performance, she was like, wow. you guys are pro man."
i heard from grace after FOA that the choir actually cried when yihuang was playing the saxophone solo cos they thought it was really touching. haha. i thought so too. but i didnt go for FOA. i was at home STONING. cos my parents didnt allow me to go. and i also remembered that during the hong kong band exchange, the seniors played 7th night for the hong kong band and while i was sitting behind a hong kong boy, he actually said this when he saw andrea's fast part on the mallets.
"wow! look! that girl very pro!"
haha. anyway, that's not the point.
listening to rosa.
the point is, music really tell stories like when i listen to rosa, i feel as if it's telling a stroy of a war because of the part where all basses have to play very last and the beginning and the ending sounds lamenting. so. ya. but different aspects have different views, so i dunno.
we're playing rosa for concert. ha. so listen out if you're there and see what story you get.
